PVC and plastic barriers as post-COVID measures - Theo10 | Made-In-Singapore Skincare Products

Taking a look at  a restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, Zig-zagging barriers made from PVC pipes and plastic sheets were erected for diners craving Japanese-style hot pot at a restaurant which reopened for the first time in weeks.

After word came down that restaurants could reopen on the condition they enforce social distancing, restaurant chain Penguin Eat Shabu on Monday reopened its Ari and Ratchapruek branches with makeshift barriers sequestering each table for two people to share a hot pot meal.

Tanapan said the restaurant chain closed its first branch back in February due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and by March had to lay off employees and impose pay cuts. Monday marked the first time any of its six Bangkok stores had opened in over a month.

In the USA, apart from the floor marking for safe distancing, some supermarkets such as Giant are installing Plexiglass partitions in Acme pharmacies and service desks or any counters with cash registers to separate cashiers from customers and to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Also in the USA,The City of Madison is getting ready to deploy Plexiglas barriers at all 66 polling stations, in order to help stop the spread of the coronavirus between poll workers and voters. The City’s Engineering Division posted online that each polling station will get two barriers, built with Plexiglas, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pipe and plywood. One 8-foot by 2.5-foot barrier will be set up for two poll workers to sit behind and check IDs, while another 4-foot by 2.5-foot barrier will be set up for one poll worker to sit behind and gather the ballot, the department says.

When COVID-19 comes to an end, life will not be the same as before. PVC barriers  or Plexiglass partitions may likely be installed in booths at roadshows, cashiers or even restaurants. This measure may be made compulsory for a period of time to ensure the virus is done for.
